CloudOne Raises $1.9M in Venture Capital Funding

CloudOne, a Chicago, IL-based Software-as-a-Service provider of IBM Rational development tools, recently raised $1.9m in venture capital funding.

The round was led by Chicago-based business leaders.

The company intends to use the funds to grow its service, capitalizing on the explosive growth of software development in the cloud.

Created in 2009 and led by CEO John McDonald, CloudOne aims to lift software and systems development on to the Cloud helping customers save money, scale development dynamically and unites their vendors, contractors and employees in a global Virtual Private Cloud, custom-built to their specifications.
Among the others, it is used by McDonald’s Corporation, The University of California, Lenovo, Bazaarvoice, The University of Texas – El Paso, and The Federal Aviation Administration.

On August, 1, the company appointed former IBM Executive James Pietrocarlo as Director of Business Development.
