Centrify Corporation, a Sunnyvale, CA-based provider of security and compliance solutions designed to control, secure and audit both on-premise and cloud-based systems and applications, has closed a $16m Series D financing round.
The round was led by Index Ventures, with participation from existing investors Mayfield Fund, Accel Partners, INVESCO Private Capital and Sigma Partners.
Centrify intends to use the funds to expand distribution and to accelerate growth in new areas, including cloud environments.
Mike Volpi, Index Ventures partner and former senior executive at Cisco, served as the lead investor on the round.
Led by CEO Tom Kemp, Centrify Centrify delivers integrated software solutions that centrally control, secure and audit access to cross-platform systems and applications by leveraging Microsoft Active Directory. Customers include financial institutions, pharmaceutical companies, government departments, retail giants, high-tech firms and universities.
The deployments range from thousands of globally distributed UNIX and Linux servers to customers who need to manage the Macs in a single department.
