6connect, a Palo Alto, California-based provider of a software suite designed to solve the complexity of migrating to and managing IPv6 through network automation tools, secured $2m in a Series A financing.
The round was led by by Hummer Winblad Venture Partners.
The company intends to use the funds to expand sales and marketing efforts and add new features in its network automation platform.
Founded in 2009 and led by CEO Richard Donaldson, 6connect helps enterprises, content providers and service providers simplify the transition from IPv4 to IPv6 and automate the management of complex IPv6 networks. Its suite of software tools includes IPv4 management, steps to migrate to IPv6, and ultimately IPv6 deployment and on-going automated administration.
In conjunction with the funding, Mark Gorenberg, Managing Partner at Hummer Winblad Venture Partners will join teh company’s board.
