JML Optical Industries, a Rochester, New York-based designer and manufacturer of custom precision optical components, completed a control recapitalization with a $9.7m equity investment from BB&T Capital Partners.
M&T Bank provided senior debt for the transaction.
BB&T Capital Partners made the investment in conjunction with the company’s new CEO, its founder and other members of management.
JML Optical Industries’ components are primarily for OEM manufacturers in the defense, medical diagnostic, life sciences, semiconductor, graphic arts, metrology and biometrics industries.
