CloudFlare Raises $20M in Series B Funding

CloudFlare, a San Francisco, California-based web performance and security company, has raised $20m in Series B funding.

The round was led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA) , with participation from existing investors Venrock and Pelion Venture Partners.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to build its team and expand its infrastructure.

In conjunction with the funding, Scott Sandell, General Partner with NEA, joined CloudFlare’s Board of Directors.

Launched in September 2010 and led by CEO and co-founder Matthew Prince, the company has built a global network that automatically optimizes the delivery of web pages so visitors get the fastest page load times and best performance. With 12 data centers worldwide, CloudFlare also stops threats and limits abusive bots and crawlers from wasting bandwidth and server resources.
