Wind Energy Direct Receives €20M in Funding

Wind Energy Direct, an Irish “on-site” wind energy developer, has received €20m in funding.

The round was led by €200m investment fund ESB Novusmodus.

The company intends to use the funds for the development of on-site wind projects for large energy users across Ireland and Great Britain, adding up to 75MW of wind generation capacity.

Led by Managing Director Dominic Costello, Wind Energy Direct focuses on the installation of turbines at locations with a significant energy requirement such as manufacturing facilities, hospitals, data centres etc., allowing them to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions.

The company, which is based in Limerick, Belfast, and Edinburgh, plans to invest approximately €100m over the next three years.
