Wave Accounting Inc., a Toronto, Canada-based online accounting software company, has raised $1.5m in seed funding.
The round was led by INKEF Capital, the venture capital arm of pension funds OMERS (Canada) and ABP (the Netherlands).
Launched in November 2010, WaveAccounting.com is a free, online accounting application designed for small businesses employing up to 9 people.
Wave, which is led by president and CEO Kirk Simpson, has already signed up 20,000 small businesses in 162 countries.
Created in 2010, INKEF Capital aims to help grow start-up companies by partnering with them throughout the investment lifecycle.
