Telltale Games Closes $7M Series C Funding Round

Telltale Games, a San Rafael, CA-based independent digital publisher of “cinematic” games, has closed a $7m Series C funding round.

Investors include IDG Ventures, Granite Ventures and other angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to launch new products and enhance its multi-platform publishing infrastructure, with a particular focus on connected consumer technologies.

Founded in 2004 and led by CEO Dan Connors, Telltale Games produces episodic, cinematic games focused on narrative and character (http://www.telltalegames.com/games), which are published digitally via its own retailing platform and on all major retailers’ PC, console and handheld devices (PlayStation 3 system, PC, Mac, Wii™, Xbox 360™ and iPad).

Telltale, which released Back To The Future: The Game, in December 2010, will soon launch other titles including Jurassic Park: The Game, The Walking Dead ( new game based on a Law & Order television franchise), King’s Quest, and Fables.
