Infineta Systems Closes $15M Series B Funding Round

Infineta Systems, a San Jose, California-based provider of Hyper-scale WAN optimization systems, has closed a $15m Series B funding round.

This round was led by Rembrandt Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors Alloy Ventures and North Bridge Venture Partners.

This latest funding brings the total amount raised by the company to date to $30m.

Infineta Systems intends to use the capital to expand its sales, marketing, and engineering teams.

In conjunction with the financing, In Sik Rhee, a data center automation veteran, previously co-founder of both Opsware (LoudCloud) and app server middleware pioneer, Kiva Software and today general partner at Rembrandt Venture Partners, has joined the company’s board.

Led by co-founder and CEO Raj Kanaya, Infineta Systems develops and markets commercial WAN optimization systems that accelerate inter-data center WANs, which are powered by the proprietary Velocity Dedupe Engine™. The company’s new flagship product, the Infineta Data Mobility Switch, is designed to address the explosion in inter-data center traffic generated by critical applications and accelerate multi-gigabit business continuity/disaster recovery, cross-site virtualization, and Big Data traffic.
