Cavendish Kinetics, a ‘s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands- and San Jose, California-based fabless semiconductor manufacturer, closed a $10m financing round.
The company added Qualcomm Incorporated to its existing investors including Tallwood Venture Capital, Wellington Partners Venture Capital and others, which also participated in the round.
Cavendish Kinetics plans to use the capital to produce RF Tuning products based on its proprietary NanoMech™ technology. Initial products target antenna tuners and impedance matching devices in mobile devices and are expected to sample early in 2012.
Led by CEO Dennis Yost, the company designs and manufactures tunable RF components partnering with major semiconductor, module, and handset makers.
In conjunction with the funding, RF industry veterans, Messrs. Paul Dal Santo and Moiz Beguwala, have joined Cavendish’s board. Chairman of the board is Luiz Arzubi.
