MobileIron Closes $20M Series D Financing Round

MobileIron, a Mountain View, CA-based provider of enterprise management and security solutions from mobile devices and apps, has closed a $20m Series D growth financing round.

Investors include existing shareholders Foundation Capital, Norwest Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital and Storm Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate initiatives for existing and emerging mobile platforms, and expand worldwide.

Led by CEO Bob Tinker, MobileIron aims to solve the problems CIOs face as business data and applications move to smartphones and tablets. Its Virtual Smartphone Platform is designed to give IT and users real-time intelligence and control over mobile content, activity, and apps in order to secure the enterprise, reduce wireless cost, and improve the mobile user experience.

The company has offices in The Netherlands, Germany, and India.
