Clearspring Closes $20M Series D Funding Round

Clearspring Technologies, Inc., a McLean, VA-based provider of the social content sharing platform AddThis, has closed a $20m series D financing.

The round was led by Institutional Venture Partners (IVP), with participation from existing investors New Enterprise Associates, Novak Biddle Venture Partners, Ted Leonsis, Steve Case, Nigel Morris, and Ron Conway.

The company intends to use the funding to accelerate its publisher products and continue to expand its advertising offerings, as well as growing through strategic acquisitions.

Led by co-founder and CEO Hooman Radfar and Chairman Ted Leonsis, Clearspring provides the AddThis platform that enables publishers to distribute and track digital content such as web pages, widgets, and videos to social networks, bookmarking sites, and blogs.

The company has offices in New York and Los Angeles.
