VideoSurf Raises $16M in Series C Financing

VideoSurf, a San Mateo, California-based developer of video discovery technology that enables consumers to discover, search and identify videos on any device, has raised $16m in Series C financing.

Backers include Pitango Venture Capital and additional strategic investors.
This brings the total amount rasied by the company to date to $28m.
As stated by CEO and co-founder Lior Delgo, the company intends to use the funds to hire additional staff and further invest in its technology.
VideoSurf has also been awarded a patent for its proprietary computer vision technology that analyzes all frames within a video to visually identify prominent objects providing an enhanced user experience. According to a written statement, it reaches over 20m unique users per month, including over 12m who visit www.videosurf.com.
The company was founded in 2006 by Delgo, Prof. Achi Brandt, CSO, Dr. Eitan Sharon, CTO, and Shai Deljo, COO.
