ITA Software Acquired by Google for $700M

Following the approvation of the transaction by the U.S. Department of Justice, Google has acquired Cambridge, MA-based ITA Software from Battery Ventures, which led a $100M venture capital financing round in the company in January of 2006.
The $700m acquisition will support the flight information software company in its next phase of growth.
Founded by computer scientists from MIT, ITA Software provides innovative solutions for the travel industry. Its QPX is a comprehensive airfare shopping system, which is used by airlines and travel distributors worldwide.
