Insight Venture Partners, a private equity and venture capital firm focused on expansion and late stage investments in the global software, Internet and data services industries, has closed new funds totalling $2bn.
In particular, Insight Venture Partners VII has raised approximately $1.5bn in institutional commitments and approximately $70m in affiliate and friend commitments. Similar to prior funds, Fund VII will be invested in businesses focused on the global software and Internet services industries, with capital deployed in both minority and control transactions.
Insight Venture Partners Coinvestment Fund II, which has been established for co-investments in larger deals, received $450m.
The firm intends to invest up to $150m per transaction.
Founded in New York in 1995 by managing director Jeff Horing, Insight Venture Partners is composed by experienced investors and operating executives with more than 150 years of collective experience in its focal industries.
