HipGeo Completes $500K Initial Financing Round

HipGeo, a Los Angeles, CA-based developer of a location-aware platform that automatically creates a record of the places users go and how they get there, has completed a $500k initial round of financing.
The round was led by Morado Venture Partners, with participation from Galen Buckwalter, and Robert Bingham.
As stated by co-founder Rich Rygg, the company is using the funds to expand its development team and develop an array of new features to enhance the user experience.
Launched in 2011, the HipGeo location-aware platform includes:
– smartphone apps that enable users to record and organize their lives around geography. Information such as location, routes, places, comments, photos, and other forms of user-generated content are archived and can be shared through integration with Facebook, Twitter, SMS, and email;
– a website;
– an API that will be open to third-party developers;
