DailyWorth Secures $850K in Series A Round

DailyWorth.com, a Philadelphia, PA-based personal finance daily email and community for women, recently closed an $850k Series A venture capital and angel funding.
The round was led by Robin Hood Ventures with participation from TomorrowVentures, Social Leverage, 500 Startups, Venture51, and Investors’ Circle as well as individual investors Joanne Wilson, David Cohen, Scott Becker, and Carol Chow.
The company is using the funding to launch customized email newsletters; create a new website, content and live events.
Founded in 2009 by Amanda Steinberg, DailyWorth aims to promote financial literacy for women by delivering actionable content around money management via a daily email. Its 55,000 subscribers receive a daily email in topics ranging from innovative budgeting and saving techniques to investment basics.
Members of the management team include Editor-in-Chief MP Dunleavey, previously a personal finance columnist with the New York Times and currently a contributor with Money magazine, Marketing Manager Hilary Fetter, formerly of Ideal Bite.
