EquipRent.com, a Alexandria, VA-based lead-generation company focused on the equipment rental market, has raised $1m in seed funding.
Investors include Canal Partners and angel investor Howard Lindzon.
Founded by Scott Anderson, who has been an executive in the construction industry in the Washington, DC area for 20 years, EquipRent.com aims to connect commercial construction companies with construction equipment rental companies.
The service enables contractors to select the equipment they need to rent and enter their contact information into the EquipRent quote engine. The engine matches the closest rental companies to get the most competitive prices in the market.
The company is currently working on adding new features, which allow companies to track all of the equipment they have on rent and on what jobs it is located on.
Later this year, EquipRent will launch a mobile application.
