Pyreos Receives Equity Investment from Existing Shareholders

Pyreos, an Edinburgh, UK-based developer of patented thin film technology with applications across the infrared sensor industry, has received an additional equity investment from existing shareholders.
Investors include Seraphim Capital, which led the company’s £1.35m round in April 2010, Siemens Technology Accelerator, Braveheart Investment Group PLC and Scottish Enterprise’s Scottish Venture Fund.
Pyreos intends to use the funds to strengthen its global network of channel partners and continue to expand its customer base. The company has a number of manufacturing partners across the UK, Germany, and throughout Europe, which contribute to the production of its infrared sensor array based products.
Founded in July 2007 by Jeff Wright, Scott Freeborn, and Carsten Giebeler, Pyreos has recently added Tony Lear, a 40 year veteran of the electronics and semiconductor industries, as Non Executive Chairman.
