Instagram Raises $7M

Instagram, a San Francisco, CA-based photo sharing app for iPhone that is inspired by old Polaroid cameras, has raised $7m in funding.
The round was led by Matt Cohler from Benchmark Capital, with participation from Adam D’Angelo, Jack Dorsey, Chris Sacca, Steve Anderson and Baseline Ventures.
The company intends to use the new capital to expand its engineering team as well as scale across multiple mobile and web platforms.
Founded 4 months ago by CEO Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, Instagram already added two more members to the team and is currently searching for an iPhone Software Engineer and a Visual & Experience Designer (http://instagr.am/about/jobs/).
