Der Grüne Punkt – Duales System Deutschland Receives Investment from HIG Europe

Funds advised by H.I.G. European Capital Partners LLP and a group of private bakers have made a significant investment in Der Grüne Punkt – Duales System Deutschland GmbH (DSD), a Cologne, Germany-based recycling company.
H.I.G. Europe and the investor group are backing the MBO of the company’s management team. They are acquiring the company from Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co, which acquired DSD in January 2005. Philippe von Stauffenberg of Solidus Partners is also taking the position of executive chairman.
DSD markets take-back recycling systems including close-to-home collection and recovery of consumer and transport packaging materials, as well as eco-friendly, cost-efficient recycling of used electrical equipment and facility waste disposal services.
The company’s management team – led by CEO Stefan Schreiter – plans to expand their recycling platform throughout Europe and grow into complementary environmentally friendly services.
DSD has addiotional offices in Berlin, Norderstedt and Augsburg.
