BLiNQ Networks Raises $7.4M in Series A Funding

BLiNQ Networks Inc., a Plano, TX-based developer of intelligent wireless backhaul solutions for compact base stations that enable wireless carriers to address the growth in demand for capacity, has raised $7.4m in Series A funding.
Investors include New Venture Partners, Summerhill Venture Partners and the Business Development Bank of Canada.
The company has also appointed former President of Andrew Corporation’s Wireless Network Solutions, Carleton Miller, as President and CEO to lead the launch to market.
In conjunction with the funding, New Venture Partners’ Dan Deeney and Summerhill’s Joe Catalfamo joins Ralph E. Faison, CEO and President at Pulse Electronics and Carleton Miller, on BLiNQ’s board.
Founded in June 2010 after the acquisition of intellectual property and wireless assets from Nortel Networks, the company has research and development facilities in Ottawa, Canada.
