Axial Exchange Secures Series A Financing

Axial Exchange, Inc., a Raleigh, N.C.-based provider of software that enables continuity of care across care settings, has secured Series A financing.
The round was led by Canaan Partners, with particiation from IDEA Fund Partners.
The company intends to use the proceeds, whose amount remained undisclosed, to fund the continued development of its health care communication platform and to expand sales and marketing initiatives.
Led by VEO and founder Joanne Rohde, Axial Exchange has developed a communication platform that enables hospital-based care providers to collaborate with outside physicians. 
Axial gathers clinical information from disparate hospital systems and provides summaries that are designed for the needs of the various outside stakeholders that provide care, including primary care physicians, specialists, and medical home case managers.
The Axial Communication Platform leverages both open source software and a cloud-based delivery model.
