Sensr.net Raises $1.5M in Funding

Sensr.net, an Incline Village, NV-based start up that focuses on providing cloud computing monitoring and social networking services for Internet-accessible cameras, has raised $1.5m in funding.

The round was led by Spark Capital, with participation from Charles River Ventures and strategic angel investors.
Using scalable cloud computing infrastructure, Sensr.net enables users to set up and remotely monitor network cameras over the internet using a browser.
It continuously monitors and archives users’ cameras, detecting suspicious or unusual activity. If activity is detected, Sensr.net notifies users instantly via text message or email. In addition, the solution allows to create videos of interesting moments and share them via the sensr.net website, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and other social networking sites.
The company was founded in 2009 by Adam Beguelin PhD, CEO.
Prior to founding Sensr.net, Mr. Beguelin founded Truveo, a search engine for Web video in 2004, acquired by AOL in 2006. After the acquisition, he served as a vice president of AOL Video. Mr. Beguelin is a founder of CMU Silicon Valley and holds 10 patents.
