LibreDigital Raises $4M

LibreDigital, an Austin, Texas-based developer of technology that powers the promotion, sales and delivery of content on-demand across the web and different marketplaces and devices including the Apple iPad and iBookstore, Google, Amazon Kindle, has raised $4m in funding.
The company intends to use the funds, whose providers remained undisclosed, to go to market faster and bring new technology offerings across all media types.
The company is one of the largest providers of book content to Apple and recently signed deals to provide high resolution magazines and newspapers to color reading platforms including NOOKcolor, Sony and others. LibreDigital also provides a secure HTML5 reader for major publishers who are offering free content in the Starbucks Digital Network via the Bookish Reading Club.
Led by President and CEO Russell P. Reeder, the company has offices in New York and London.
