Fulcrum BioEnergy Closes $75M Series C Financing

Fulcrum BioEnergy, Inc., a Pleasanton, California-based company that focuses on developing, owning and operating efficient, environmentally responsible facilities for converting municipal solid waste and other waste products to a low-cost, reliable and environmentally clean renewable transportation fuel, closed a $75m Series C financing.
A portion of the capital will be used to fund the company’s $120m Sierra BioFuels Plant, a commercial-scale production facility designed to convert household garbage to clean, low-carbon ethanol, renewable electricity and other chemical products.
When construction is complete in late 2012, the Plant will have the capacity to convert post-sorted MSW into ethanol, renewable electricity and propanol and provide the Reno market with environmentally clean source of transportation fuel.
