Emerus Hospital Partners LLC, a Texas-based system of licensed hospitals and satellite facilities, received a $30m equity investment from Austin Ventures.
The company, formerly known as 24 HR Emergency Room, intends to use the capital for its expansion plan and as well as mergers and acquisitions.
Led by CEO Toby Hamilton, Emerus currently operates five facilities (three in the Houston area and two in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex) and is actively securing additional strategic sites throughout Texas as well as other key markets across the US.
The company focuses on delivering high quality medical care (it is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year) in underserved communities that may not yet be large enough to support a traditional hospital and emergency room.
