Nimble Storage Raises $16M in Series C Funding

Nimble Storage, a San Jose, CA-based developer of a converged storage and backup solution, has received $16m in Series C round of funding.
Investors include existing shareholders Accel Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Sequoia Capital.
The company intends to use the capital to expand sales, marketing and engineering initiatives.
Founded by former Data Domain and NetApp executives Varun Mehta, CEO, and Umesh Maheshwari, CTO, Nimble Storage has developed a converged iSCSI storage, backup, and disaster recovery solution.
Based on its patent-pending Cache Accelerated Sequential Layout (CASL™) architecture, the converged storage-series enables fast inline data compression, intelligent data optimization leveraging flash memory and high-capacity disk, instant optimized backups, and WAN-efficient replication in a single device. 
Nimble Storage solutions are available through a nationwide network of IT solution providers.
