Lookout Mobile Security Raises $19.5M in Series C Funding

Lookout Mobile Security, a San Franicsco, CA-based cloud-based smartphone security, raised an additional $19.5m in Series C funding.
The round was led by new investor Index Ventures, with participation from Accel Partners and Khosla Ventures.
In May 2010, the company had closed an $11m Series B financing.
In conjunction with the funding, Mike Volpi, Index partner and former Cisco executive, joins Lookout’s board of directors.
Commenting on the funding, CEO and founder John Hering said: “This investment will help Lookout expand to other platforms and develop additional security services to protect consumers”.

It has users across 400 mobile networks in 170 countries. Lookout’s mobile application is available for Android, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices.
