Endomondo Raised Funding from SEED Capital

Endomondo, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based sports community, has received an investment of undisclosed amount from SEED Capital.
The company, which allows users to record their sporting activities through website or mobile and share the results with their friends, intends to use the funds to further develop its service and attract new users.
Endomondo.com is used by approximately 700,000 registered site users spread across 200 countries. Their mobile application makes a GPS phone capable of recording route and speed while the users runs, bikes or similar sporting activities. When the activity is completed, the trip is stored on a personal profile at Endomondo.com. and from there users can follow their own progress, challenge friends and follow their training. The application is available in both a free version and a more advanced paid version.
The company, which was founded in November 2007 by Mette Lykke, Christian Birk and James Jønck, has 16 fulltime employees, 11 of which are located in Copenhagen.
