Beat.no AS, a Mjømna, Norway-based IT company that operates an online music store, has received a NOK 4.8m seed financing.
The round was led by Fjord Invest, with participation from shareholders and local investors.
This funds, alongside the support from Innovasjon Norge, provide the company with the resources to continue to expand its service.
Launched in June 2009 by Simen Wilberg, Njål Wilberg, Linn Dyveke Wilberg and Therese Trefall, Beat.no allows members and non members to buy and listen Digital Rights Management-free music.
Membership in the service gives users the possibility to enjoy reduced prices on singles and albums.
