MOVIECLIPS.com Raises $3M in Series A Funding Round

MOVIECLIPS.com, a Santa Monica, CA-based online service that offers a collection of movie scenes, has raised $3m in its Series A funding round.
Investors include Shasta Ventures and First Round Capital, with participation from angel investors Jeff Clavier of SoftTech VC, Aydin Senkut of Felicis Ventures, Naval Ravikant, Jeff Kearl, Tom McInerney, and prior investor Richmond Park Partners.
In conjunction with the funding, Tod Francis (Shasta Ventures), and Adam Lilling will be joining MOVIECLIPS’ board of directors.
MOVIECLIPS allows fans to find, watch and share more than 14,000 movie clips from the libraries of six major Hollywood studios. The company plans to invest the new capital to launch new tools that promote the discovery of movies’ best moments through curated clips.
They include the TOP10 and MASHUP clips, which showcase compilations such as “Best On-Screen Kisses”, “Top Sporting Moments”, “Best Dance Moves Ever” and others.
