CloudBees Raises $4M in Series A Financing

CloudBees, a Lewes, DE-based provider of Java Platform as a Service for both enterprises and ISVs, from development to production, has raised $4m in Series A financing.
The round was led by Matrix Partners, with participation from individual investors, including Marc Fleury, the JBoss founder, and Bob Bickel.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate development and delivery of RUN@cloud, a production runtime designed to complement DEV@cloud, a fully integrated development infrastructure featuring a Hudson-based continuous integration offering, delivered as a service and currently in beta.
Founded by former JBoss CTO Sacha Labourey, CloudBees recently acquired InfraDNA and added its founder Kohsuke Kawaguchi, creator of the Hudson continuous integration server, to the team. The acquistion is designed to augment the company’s Hudson offerings through the on-premise solution Nectar.
In conjunction with the funding, Matrix General Partner David Skok and Bickel will join CloudBees’ board of directors.
