Voltea Ltd., a Leiden, The Netherlands-based advanced water desalination company, has completed a €3.6m financing.
The round was led by Rabo Ventures, with participation from existing investor Pentair, Inc.
The capital infusion will support the company in the commercial roll-out of its Capacitive Deionization (CapDI) technology, which can be used in water desalination processes ranging from domestic dishwashers to industrial boilers.
Voltea is currently focusing on applications for water softening, cooling towers, water re-use and brackish water.
