uTest Closes $13M Series C Funding Round

uTest, a Southborough, MA-based software testing marketplace, has closed a $13m Series C financing round. 

The investment, which was led by Scale Venture Partners, with participation from all existing investors, including Longworth Venture Partners and Egan-Managed Capital, brings the company’s total funds raised to date to over $20m.
In conjunction with the financing, Sharon Wienbar, Managing Director with Scale Venture Partners, joins uTest’s board.
The funds will be used to increase investment in the company’s rapidly expanding community of 30,000 professional testers, to further develop its the testing platform, mobile apps and APIs, to enhance its newly launched usability testing and load testing services, and grow into new categories.
uTest is proposing a new approach in the field of software testing by introducing in-the-wild testing for web, mobile and desktop apps. These on-demand testing services, which aim to increase application quality, reduce time to market and testing costs, complement in-house QA teams from global enterprises, startups, universities and non-profits.
