Kapost Closes $1.1M Series A Financing Round

Kapost, a Boulder, CO-based developer of an online newsroom technology that allows publishers to produce content from large networks of contributors, closed its $1.1m Series A financing round.
The round was led by High Country Venture and Highway 12 Ventures, with participation from Zelkova Ventures, Trisiras/Kal Vepuri, Tango, David Cohen, David Tisch, and Jason Kiefer.
The new capital will be used to accelerate the company’s growth and to pursue its vision of enabling a vastly larger number of contributors to produce the content people consume every day.
In conjunction with the funding, Chris Marks of High Country Venture and George Mulhern of Highway 12 Ventures, will be joining the board of directors of Kapost.
Founded by Toby Murdock and Mike Lewis, co-founders of Qloud, and Nader Akhnoukh, a co-founder of Tamale Software, the service allows publishers to manage the processes of the newsroom – editorial calendars, story assignment, revisioning, and performance tracking. The technology integrates easily with any existing site or CMS.
