Betterfly Secures Venture Capital Funding from Lightbank

Betterfly, a New York-based company that operates a website that allow people who want to learn, look and feel better to find tutors, coaches, stylists, trainers who offer these services, has secured a Series A round of funding from Lightbank.
The capital infusion will allow Betterfly to add a Chicago office, in addition to its New York headquarters.
In conjunction with the funding, Lightbank creators Eric Lefkofsky and Brad Keywell will join the company’s board of directors.
Betterfly.com is free and focuses on people (called “Betterists” on the website), excluding companies.
In addition to its search features, the site offers Betterists the opportunity to create a customizable profile page to promote their qualifications, services, special offers, disclose their payment policies and manage their own blogs.
