Sojern Secures $9M in Venture Capital Funding

Sojern, an Omaha Neb.-based vertical travel advertising network that offers advertisers cross-channel marketing solutions, has secured $9m in new funding.

The investment was led by Focus Ventures, Trident Capital and Norwest Venture Partners.

The new capital will be used to expand Sojern’s product offerings which will provide enhanced solutions for its travel and advertising industry partners and customers.

Commenting on the funding, Gordon Whitten, Sojern founder and CEO, was reported as saying: “With this additional capital we will continue to deliver on our business promise and expand our offerings to meet the continually changing needs of the travel and advertising industries as well as meet the diverse needs of today’s consumers”.
Founded in September 2007, the company leverage the popularity of online check-in and print-at-home functionality to enable its travel partners to provide additional value to their passengers while also giving advertisers the opportunity to reach specific audience segments at the right time and place.
Sojern serves ad display impressions on boarding passes, itineraries and other travel related properties through partnerships with Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Hawaiian Airlines, US Airways, United Airlines and Travelport for major advertising brands.
