Mediplast AB, a Malmö, Sweden-based provider of consumables intended for use in healthcare with operations focus on Surgery, Wound Care, Intensive Care (ICU) and Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) products, has received an investment of undisclosed amount from Priveq Investment.
The company will use the new capital to accelerate its rate of expansion in the Nordic markets during the coming years, with the ambition to prepare for an IPO eventually.
Formed in 1960 in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1999 the company was acquired by current owner Procurator AB, who is remaining as an owner following the investment.
Priveq’s participating interest will be about 39%.
In conjuntion with this transaction, Fredrik Arp, with a background in companies including Volvo Cars, Trelleborg and PLM, will become Chairman of the Board.
Mediplast currently has central warehousing in Malmö, operates subsidiaries across the Nordic region, three production units in Italy, Denmark and Finland, and employs some 100 people.
