Complete Genomics, a Mountain View, CA-based life sciences company that has developed and commercialized an innovative DNA sequencing platform, has raised $39m in its Series E funding round.
The round was led by new investor Sands Capital, with participation from existing investors Essex Woodlands, OVP Venture Partners, Prospect Venture Partners, OrbiMed Advisors, Highland Capital Management and Enterprise Partners.
Complete Genomics’ platform, which combines the company’s proprietary human genome sequencing technology with advanced informatics and data management software, is offered as an end-to-end, outsourced service. It provide customers with data that is immediately ready to be used for genome-based research.
