Ipso Facto Films, a Newcastle, UK-based company that develops, produces, co-produces and finances indipendent films that are quality productions with international potential, has received a £150k investment from The Finance for Business – North East Creative Content Fund.
The fund, held by public agency Northern Film & Media, is managed by venture capitalists Northstar Ventures and financed by ERDF funding through the regional development agency One North East.
The fund is based on a recoupment model that enables the fund holders to maximise the impact of public investment in commercial-creative content. In this case, the fund will recoup its investment from Ipso Facto’s slate of future films.
Founded in 1993 by Christine Alderson, Ipso Facto Films has produced, co-produced and executive-produced over 15 feature films and over 50 short films and documentaries. The company has offices in London and Newcastle.
