ReputationDefender, Inc., a Redwood City, CA-based online reputation and privacy management company, has secured $15m in Series C funding.
The round was led by JAFCO Ventures, with participation from existing investors, Bessemer Venture Partners and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
In January 2010, the company had raised $8.65m in a Series B funding.
In conjunction with this new round, Nick Sturiale, managing partner at Jafco, will join the company’s board of directors.
ReputationDefender provides a suite of products which allows users discover what is on the Internet about them, delete personal information from online databases and define how they look when someone is searching for them online.
The capital infusion will be used to add new professionals to its management team, expand customer acquisition efforts and develop new products for consumers and small and medium sized businesses. The company recently launched a free application, PrivacyDefender, for resetting the privacy settings on one’s Facebook account.
ReputationDefender, which serves customers in over 100 countries, also operates an office in Munich, Germany.
