Ubitus Receives Investment from NTT-IP

Ubitus, Inc., a software platform provider in the field of multi-device content delivery, has received a $2.0m equity investment from NTT Investment Partners, Inc.
The investment was made through the NTT-IP-managed fund, NTT Investment Partners Fund, L.P., which was established in March 2008 for the purpose of investing in business ventures in Japan and abroad having various technologies and expertise with strong future growth potential in information and communications fields.
In conjunction with the deal, an undisclosed person from NTT is to serve as a part-time director on the Ubitus board.
At the same time, a joint committee is being established for promoting development and marketing.
Founded in 2007, Ubitus currently has 80 employees in its offices in Taipei, Tokyo, Seoul and Guangzhou. The company provides software platforms for fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) applications, and offers its services, making use of cloud computing solutions, to device manufacturers, wireless/wireline communication service providers and telecommunication network operators.
