Shocking Technologies, Inc., a San Jose, CA-based manufacturer of embedded ESD solutions, raised an additional $5.2m in its B-1 funding round completing the round at $13.2m.
The round included participation from existing institutional shareholders Arch Ventures, ATA ventures, Balch Hill Capital, Vista Ventures as well as SkyLake Incuvest & Co. of Korea.
The company is developing Voltage Switchable Dielectric™ (VSD™) materials. They are polymer nano-composites that protect electronic components from harmful electrostatic discharge (ESD).
The funding will be used to increase the production as well as to continue to hire new professionals. Shocking will increase its staff 33% over the next several months and over 50% for the year.
