ChipSensors Raises €2M

ChipSensors Ltd., a Limerick, EIRE-based a fabless semiconductor company that produces silicon sensors measuring temperature, humidity and certain gases, has raised €2m in funding from a consortium of investors.
The round was led by the Bank of Ireland Kernel Capital Fund, with participation from Enterprise Ireland and London, UK-based ETV Capital.
The capital infusion will be used to enhance the company’s sales and marketing channels for its sensor chips. Negotiations are already under way with market and distribution channel support partners in the US, China and Japan.
Founded in 2007, ChipSensors is headquartered in the Plassey Technology Park on campus in University College Limerick.
