Sonos, Inc., a Santa Barbara, CA-based wireless home music system maker, has raised $25m in funding from Index Ventures.
In conjunction with the deal, Mike Volpi, Partner at Index Ventures, has joined the company’s board of directors.
The proceeds from the financing will enable Sonos to grow and accelerate market penetration.
Currently it is possible to buy the company’s flagship product, the Multi-Room Music System, in over 60 countries worldwide or online at www.sonos.com.
The company already operates offices in Cambridge, MA, Hilversum, Netherlands and Penang, Malaysia.
