Grid Net Receives Investment from Cisco

Grid Net, a San Francisco, California-based developer of real-time Smart Grid and Smart Home software platforms for utilities, their partners and their customers, has received an undisclosed equity investment from Cisco.
The company will use the funds to promote its Smart Grid network infrastructure solutions. In particular, the financing will be used to accelerate its cooperative efforts around product development, marketing, customer engagement, industry standards, and regulatory Smart Grid initiatives.
The company, which also operates offices in Sydney, Australia, is backed by Braemar Energy Ventures, Catamount Ventures, GE Energy Financial Services and Intel Capital.
