Zenverge, Inc., a Cupertino, CA-based developer of advanced media integrated circuits (ICs), has received a venture capital investment led by Motorola Ventures, the strategic investment arm of Motorola, Inc. (NYSE:MOT).
Other existing investors, DCM and Norwest Venture Partners, also provided funds.
The financing will support production of a family of single-chip media ICs based on the Zenverge Entertainment Nexus (ZEN), a new architecture for digital HD convergence.
Amir Mobini, chief executive officer and co-founder of Zenverge, was reported to say: “With this funding, Zenverge has launched the industry’s most powerful media ICs, enabling operators and manufacturers to monetize many new applications and services at reduced system cost.
“We’re excited about working with our partners to enable a true ‘anywhere, anytime, any device’ experience for consumers”.
