Six Waves Inc., a Hong Kong-based publisher and developer of gaming applications on the Facebook platform, raised $17.5m in equity financing.
The investment was made by Insight Venture Partners.
The capital infusion will be used to build infrastructure and a distribution pipeline to consolidate the company’s market share on the Facebook platform and support its international expansion and platform extension.
6 waves today has over 50m monthly active users playing its games coming from various countries all over the world. The current game portfolio has over 20 published games including World Poker, Happy Harvest, Animal Paradise and My Fishbowl, Happy Hotel, Dress Me Up and Shadow Empire.
The company works with the developers by providing distribution, localization, monetization and infrastructure solutions to help partners grow exponentially on the social media space.
