DisplayLink Receives $8M in Series C Financing

DisplayLink Corp., a Palo Alto, CA-based chip and software company that enables connectivity between computers and displays over standard interfaces like USB, Wireless USB, and Ethernet, has received a $8m Series C venture capital financing.
Investors include Atlas Venture, Balderton Capital, DAG Ventures, and DFJ Esprit.
In addition, semiconductor industry veteran Craig Ensley has been named as company’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors.
He brings to DisplayLink more than 30 years of experience in marketing, engineering and management of both startup and public semiconductor and systems businesses.
Mr Ensley was previously with Peregrine Semiconductor where he served as president, COO and board member. Prior to that, he held several executive and management roles at Cirrus Logic, Crystal Semiconductor, and Rockwell International.
Mr Ensley holds an M.B.A. from Stanford University and bachelors degrees in both applied physics and economics from the University of California at San Diego.

According to him, the company will continue to innovate and expand its market position.
